In my graduate studies, I have focused on American Women and Work during the Long Nineteenth Century. Through the ARCH fellowship, I can highlight the important influence women had during the American Revolutionary War through my topic of Virtue; I will provide historical insight into the concept of Republican Motherhood and its role in building early America.
Isabella Torcat

In the ARCH program, I look forward to studying justice systems during the American Revolution and the Civil War era. Specifically, I want to analyze court cases and hearings on social justice issues. I am also interested in examining case studies and firsthand accounts from figures in these eras. My goal is to analyze the impact of cases and stories I find and how they shaped the political climate around them.

I am a History Master's student currently working on my thesis on the Great Depression in California.
