The American Revolution and Constitution History Project
Learning the Past. Leading the Future.
As the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution approaches, the ARCH Project reconnects San Diego with the founding ideals of the United States. Although far from the nation’s original battlefields, our history belongs to all of us—including “We the People” of California.
Civic pride and engagement are at historic lows in the state, especially among young people. ARCH helps change that by bringing students, faculty, and community members together to explore the roots of American democracy.
At San Diego State University, ARCH offers hands-on learning through:
- Student-led research and storytelling
- Public talks, exhibits, and workshops
- Events with historians, curators, and civic leaders
ARCH helps students bring the past to life—while developing critical thinking, communication, and civic engagement skills that matter today.
