Community Partners
We are proud to work alongside local and national partners who believe, as we do, that the founding of the United States is a story for all of us. Their support, insight, and collaboration help power our mission and expand our impact across San Diego and beyond.
The Smithsonian Institution
The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, based in the United
States. It was founded in 1846 with funds from British scientist James Smithson, who
left his estate to the U.S. to create an institution “for the increase and diffusion
of knowledge.” Its mission is to preserve heritage, conduct research, educate the
public, and provide broad access to knowledge across disciplines like science, history,
art, and culture. The Institution fulfills this mission through its museums, research
centers, public programs, digital resources, and educational initiatives.
The Jack Miller Center
The Jack Miller Center is a nonpartisan educational venture to advance the work of scholars who teach and
study the ideas, documents, and history we hold in common as Americans. We seek to
grow the talent pipeline of university educators who teach the American political
tradition, to forge new models for university-based training of K-12 civics and history
teachers, and to build a diverse coalition of Americans to ignite a civic education
renaissance.
The Spirit of Liberty Foundation
The Spirit of Liberty Foundation is a nonprofit organization originally created to support the restoration of the
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Since 9/11, its mission has expanded to honoring
America's military, veterans, first responders, and their families through national
campaigns and patriotic initiatives. The Foundation also supports humanitarian efforts,
including disaster relief and international aid.
The House of Spain, Balboa Park
The House of Spain in San Diego is a nonprofit cultural organization based in Balboa Park, dedicated to promoting
Spanish heritage, language, and traditions. Founded in 1979, it hosts events, performances,
and educational programs to share Spanish culture with the local community and visitors.
The organization also fosters cross-cultural understanding and community involvement.
The San Diego Civil War Round Table
The San Diego Civil War Round Table was established in 1986 and has faithfully provided a welcoming forum for hundreds
of its members over the decades to gather, to speculate, to argue, and to appreciate
first-class presentations on a wide variety of topics concerning the “late unpleasantness.”
Furthermore, its members have donated many thousands of dollars toward battlefield
preservation.
